With gum disease impacting higher amounts of people each year, it’s a great time to learn about the condition and its warning signs. We’ve amassed this information on warning signs for you to look at, so please read over it and reach out for an exam if you notice any of the warning signs in your own oral cavity.
One of the first signs you should look for is red, tender, swollen or bloody gums. When the acids inflame the gums, they should turn from a pink color to a red one. Receding gums may also be a sign that your gums are inflamed. While it’s somewhat hard to tell what’s initiating bad breath, the underlying cause could very well be gum disease. Additionally, any pearly whites that look or feel wobbly may be a result of inflamed gums. Likewise, any alteration to the fit of your pearly whites or false teeth may also be a warning signal that you are developing gum disease. If you are unsure about checking for these warning signs, we would be happy to go over each of them with you during your next appointment.
